Proxy VPN: what the proxy hides and what a VPN adds on top

A proxy only swaps the address a website sees, while a VPN also puts your traffic inside an encrypted tunnel. Trace the cords to find where each one ends, and which side a VLESS link leans toward.

Your link comes within a minute. 10 days free. No sign-up and no automatic renewal.

Proxy VPN: what the proxy hides and what a VPN adds on top

Two routes across the switchboard

One destination, two wirings. Follow each cord to learn who can read what on every stretch.

Proxy route

Just the apps configured to use it
  • Your device
  • Proxy
  • Website
  1. Device to proxyRequests go out unchanged. Plain HTTP can be read on this leg, while HTTPS stays encrypted by the site itself.
  2. Proxy to websiteThe website is shown the proxy's address in place of yours.

VPN tunnel route

All apps on the device
  • Your device
  • VPN server
  • Website
  1. Device to serverThe device packs everything into one encrypted tunnel, so the local network observes a single stream to one address.
  2. Server to websiteThe website is shown the server's address, and the server can read any request the site leaves unencrypted.

Six jacks, six jobs: what each piece of the board is for

  • A proxy changes your visible address

It passes along requests only from the apps set to use it, so the website meets the proxy rather than you. The proxy operator can still read anything sent in plain text.

  • A VPN takes in the entire device

All apps share a single encrypted tunnel. The Wi-Fi or provider in between sees one stream going to one address and none of the sites inside.

  • VLESS sits in between

VLESS began life as a proxy protocol. A client such as Happ can run it for the whole phone or PC in system-wide mode, and the transport the link uses encrypts the connection to our server.

  • SOCKS5 and HTTP are just connectors

Browser add-ons and per-app proxy fields use one of the two. They steer traffic where you point it but bring no encryption themselves.

  • One link for every device you own

Happ accepts the subscription link pasted in or scanned as a QR code, and you reuse that link on each phone and laptop.

  • Where the line stops

It gives no help with anything illegal where you live and promises no anonymity. Rules vary from country to country, and keeping to local law and to each service's terms is your job.

Choose a line

Every line below takes one question about proxies and VPNs and answers it without jargon.

Operator cardNo. 1

Connecting takes three lines on the operator's card

We ship no app: you need a free third-party client, the link from the bot and a single paste.

  1. Open the bot

Tap the button on this page. The Telegram bot starts your free trial, with no sign-up on the site.

  2. Take your link

Within about a minute the bot returns your own subscription link plus a QR code.

  3. Paste it into the app

Inside Happ, paste the link or scan the QR code and turn the connection on.

Billing is in US dollars. Payment goes through the bot in USDT or other crypto, with no card or UPI route, and a term just lapses when it ends.

What the switchboard leaves unrecorded

This site has no accounts. We keep no logs of the sites you open or of your connections; ask in the bot what it stores to issue and renew your link.

Call log: what people ask first

If your question is not below, put it to the bot, where a person reads the messages.

01Proxy or VPN: where exactly is the difference?

A proxy carries the traffic of only those apps pointed at it and changes the address a site sees. A VPN does the same for the whole device and, in addition, encrypts the leg from your device to the server.

02Can I trust a free proxy?

Be wary. The operator of a proxy can read whatever travels in plain text, and you rarely know who the operator is. Never sign in to anything through a proxy you know nothing about.

03Does VLESS count as a proxy or as a VPN?

VLESS was designed as a proxy protocol. With a client such as Happ in system-wide mode it carries the traffic of the whole device, and the transport the link uses encrypts the connection to our server, so in daily use it behaves like a VPN.

04Is registration required?

No. This site has no accounts. The Telegram bot sends you a personal subscription link in about a minute, and the trial period costs nothing.

05How do I pay?

Inside the bot, using cryptocurrency such as USDT. No card or UPI payments. When the term ends, nothing is charged again on its own.

06Do you keep logs?

We keep no logs of the sites you open or of your connections. Ask in the bot what it stores to issue and renew your link.

07Will this give me an address in India?

No. We run Germany, Austria, Czechia, Singapore and South Korea, so this service cannot give you an Indian address.

08Am I allowed to use a VPN or a proxy at all?

That depends on the country you are in and it can change. Keeping to local law and to the terms of every service you use is up to you.

One lever, one link

The link arrives in about a minute, the trial costs nothing, and nothing renews on its own.
